Opened at the 4S in HK. Had been slow-oxing for a while before pouring.
This was performing extremely well. Sweet, seductive nose that you can only get with good Pinots with some age. Still fresh though and velvety smooth on the palate going down. Great Rousseau and a treat to drink.
Probably won't have upside - at least for my tastes - and would encourage drinking up if you have them. But assuming good provenance and storage, you're in for a good time! Thanks to A for sharing!

My first Rousseau Ruchottes. Definitely not worth a buy at current market prices. That being said, quite a beautifully layered wine. Fully fleshed out but with many a mile to go still. Probably still not at its peak. Wine of the tasting with the Potel' Pousse d'Or.

Beat the 96 Rousseau Ruchottes: Bright red, some sous bois, tea, orange, beautiful palate very light. Long finish. The 2nd oldest of the lot but the most youthful. Amazing.

Beat the '96 Rousseau: Was between this and the Pousse d'Or for my favourite of the lunch. Wonderfully fresh, perfumed nose with a slight hint of earth. The best makers have this supreme elegance about them and the ability to make wines with fine, filigreed tannins. Seamless finish. A real treat to have tried this.

Blind tasting. Light, balanced, sweet tannins, initially appeared very young as it still had plenty of fruits, almost 10 years too young. Second serving started showing the tertiary notes and wonderful nose of Rousseau. Excellent wine and Co-WOTD.
