Perfect bottle provided a strong showing tonight. Dark maroon and heavily clouded in the glass but offering up big aromatics of dried fig fruit, cinnamon spice, dusty cracking leather, savoury jerky, and maple notes. A little thinner on the palate with more metallic minerality behind drying berry fruit. Great bottle.
Metallic notes and faint licorice on the nose. Sour cherry palate backstopped by dry soil. Took a full two hours to fully open. Enjoyable but this bottle was fading; I'm sure it offered more in its prime.
wow. opened with a hint of oxydative aromas but quickly blew off to reveal soy, mushroom, caramel and cherry. mid is still ripe with cherry and a hint of balsamic, savory and luxurious mouthfeel, fully resolved. sour cherry with a hint of burned sugar on the finish. with time - the nose developed more floral qualities. mature but in no danger! excellent!
