Drink by dates on CT for most of the Kumeu wines are simply rubbish. This wine is still completely there (8 years after the supposed end of the drinking window) - and presumably that owes a lot to the Stelvin closure as well as to the quality of the wine. Lovely fruit and acidity, lots of citrus. Long. Pretty much a food wine, despite its lowish status. A very good and tasty glass, just as the rest of the case had been. 06 was a lovely year for Kumeu.

This is a clear, medium intensity gold colour. It has a clean nose, with medium intensity. Smells of oak, and nectarine, with a pleasant toastiness. A dry wine, with medium acidity, and a full body. Flavours are more obvious, with the oak, and nectarine, apricot, and lychees prevalent. Undertones of baked fruit. A long finish. this is a very good quality wine. I'm surprised at the cool climate characteristics, given the location of Kumeu River, but they are very apparent. Quite an elegant wine.

Love the smooth, creamy nature of this wine. Lots of minerality, citrus and high viscosity.

More minerality and steel than oak and butter. A very balanced cool climate Chardonnay
