Wine Interest Group event - Dinner with Luigi's wines (Extra Space, Boon Keng): Pop and poured it is still tight on the nose with plenty of oak and rather short on palate. After 2 hours it opened up to show dark red fruits, earth, leather and peppery spice on the nose. It has further developed from last time I tasted the wine, soft yet still a little austere, along with cherries, canberries, earth, leather and pepper. Lean acidity and good mid-palate, with earthy and spicy finish, long and fine. This time I noted the wine has developed more toward old world classic style and showing unique terroir expression.

It's a Bordeaux blend with 63% Cabernet Franc and 37% Merlot. A blend reminiscent of Right Bank St. Émilion. Dark garnet red, complex nose of Cab Franc spice, Cherry, dark fruits, earth and leather. Seductive and yet austere, it exhibits good development on palate, with sweet cherry, leather, peppery spice and vanilla. Soft mid palate with good acidity leading to a long earthy finish with soft, drying tannins. Undoubtedly a new world style and drinking well now. Good QPR.

Decent and very drinkable at this stage. Soft and supple on the palate. But it does come across as a bit one-dimensional.
