Dark orange color, veering into burnt amber. The cork was impossible to remove as it was crumbly in the middle, yet the edges adhered stubbornly to the bottle. I eventually carved a tunnel to pour the wine, and filtered it. Notwithstanding this, the wine was downright fresh, with concentrated, intense honeyed and dried fruit notes, a whiff of mild smoke and some petrol. Unbelievably long finish.

Tasted blind. Quite mineral and flinty, did not think this was Mosel. Good sweetness and balance, quite yummy but not what you'd expect from a Prum GK.

At a restaurant, from a half bottle. PnP then finished the leftovers the next day at home. Lovely, mature nose, white orange skin and a hint of forest floor, discreet sweet tropical fruit. All components perfectly well integrated. The nose could sink into this wonderful smell... On the palate, quince's jam, blood oranges, with a deep mineral core which keeps you focused and sometimes gives a slight bitter twist to the sweetness. Always a thrill to drink wines such as this...

Half bottle. Deep yellow. Scents and flavors of yellow apple and peach without much botrytis in this bottle. Moderately sweet, spicy, excellent acidity. Outstanding and astoundingly youthful.

Casual Wine Dinner (Grand Sichuan at St. Marks, New York City): Had this later in the night so my notes are less detailed, but no matter this was a stunningly beautiful Riesling. The nose is unbelievably concentrated and fresh with all kinds of flavor nuances. So complex. The palate is equally stuffed, complex and oh so chiseled. Precise flavors with all kinds of lift and persistence. Unending. Top notch.
