1987 AU BON CLIMAT SANFORD & BENEDICT VINEYARD SANTA YNEZ VALLEY PINOT NOIR- 5L; paid tribute to by Jim as he has done for many of the “Santa Barbara historic vineyards” in the area, S&B was planted in 1971 by Richard Sanford who was the visionary who discovered the ideal cool climate terroir that now is revered as the Santa Rita Hills appellation; this bottle had such viable and expressive fruit albeit in the tertiary profile with more dried that fresh red fruit; delightful.
