Bummer-last bottle. Still a pleasure to drink. Lovely mature cab, holding well at age 24. I've always had a slight preference for her one year older sibling, but both are wonderful examples of terrific winemaking at Caymus during the late '80s and early '90s.
Tasting of 5 Caymus Special Selection. Nose of cigar box, black cherry fruit, plum, and a touch of wood, more of the same on the palate, big, intense taste, touch rustic, big body, at its best-drink up, glad I store at 52 degrees, very good cabernet but in tough company tonight, My #5.
Nice at 23 years old. Fairly medium weight which I like. Nice ruby garnet. Some cedar and juniper on nose. Palate is balanced well. New world style - clean, solid, cedar tobacco. Not a lot of earth/mulch like bordeaux but hey, it not a bdx.
