Absolutely amazing for 41 years old. We decanted through a vinturi and let sit for an hour while the group drank some Chablis. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was dark berries, tobacco, dried leaves and hint of dried thyme. The finish was moderate to long. Served with our first course of pan seared sliced duck breast.

Medium color, garnet to dark tawny color, autumn brick edge, haze and opaque but some translucency towards the edge. Smells are iodine, leather, barnyard, bell pepper, raisin, dry leaves, and earth. The tastes are sour cherry, pepper, orange zest, raw meat, menthol, and earthy notes. Tannins are mostly resolved and very fine while the texture is crisp and zingy.

Fading garnet color to orange brick, slight haze and translucent. The smells are leather, rare meat, dill, tobacco, and sour cherry. The tastes are sour cherry, white salt, dill, cedar, blackberry.

Cigar box and "cackle fruit" from the off. Opens up nicely and still some acid there to let it develop over a few hours. Sadly we drank it before it could fully evolve.

Magnum. BN fill, korken kom ut hel. Flott flaske som var perfekt moden. Aroma med preg av lær, lakk, blyant, eksotiske krydder, sur/søt frukt, jordbær, litt morken treverk. Smaken følger aroma. Medium+ fylde og god lengde. Siste av 6 magnum og den klart beste(typisk!). Perfekt match til Turducken.
