  • Drinking very well inspire of the age! Great residual fruit , acidity and tannins . Great tertiary flavors of smoke and earth

  • The wine is immediately virile with its 14.9% alcohol and its dominant 93% Cabernet Franc. It is a worthy representative of Californian valley wines, namely opulent and warm.

Beautifully deep nose of raspberry coulis, plum and cooked fruit.

Warm palate with enormous juice density. Fortunately, the wine is well built with an acidity that carries it and brings tension, which prevents it from falling into heaviness. The black fruit remains deep and very pronounced, but I would have liked a little more complexity for a wine that is about 17 years old, because as it stands it remains impenetrable, young it must have been undrinkable. It is easier to think of a Syrah than a Cabernet Franc (by the way blind, this was the grape variety announced). Intense finish which heats up a little at the end of the bottle.

This is a wine that is excellent in its style and well made. Note a perfect match with the mint chocolate dessert.

  • needed a good 2+ hour decant. delicious new world CF. no confusion with Loire on this one. Drank more like a napa Cab.

  • From magnum. Had with lamb shanks during a pre Christmas dinner and it was rich and complex.

  • Decanted for two hours. This is spectacular. Fantastic sophisticated nose of cherries and herbs. The palate is full to medium bodied with layers of flavor and complexity . Red fruits, earth, herbs and a touch of bell pepper. Long, complex finish. There is a tad more oak than i would like but it has integrated well over time. Still can go at least five more years.
