Pop and pour and served with food (pasta with a lamb osso buco, very nice sauce for the pasta, too). Good color and nose of spice and red clay. Somewhat tannic but good fruit and acidity such that the tannins are not overpowering. That earthy/clay element is there that reminds me of stone buildngs in Tuscany and Umbria. A little whiff of cheese on the end. The wine had some tartrate crystals in the last pour.
