Black fruit dominates this serious, dense wine. Doesn’t show the remarkable polish I recall from its youth, this is an earthier and deeper wine if a touch monolithic (at least as a pop and pour). Plenty of material here for extended aging would be interested to try again in another decade to see how it evolves.

Wow! Wine has evolved since the last tasting. Gorgeous nose of dark cherries, licorice, and a touch of forest floor. On the palate this has everything - power, depth, complexity - and of course, it tastes delicious! I am glad I have 6 more.

Popped and poured. Great from the start, both nose and palate. Evolved a bit further with complexity over about 30min where it peaked and stayed for another 90min until gone, although over that time the nose seemed to fade a little.

(Perrot-Minot Christophe Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze) Medium-plus colour. The nose has width and a lovely creamy depth that’s edged with faint toffee. It’s not the deepest coloured, but this is very concentrated and coupled to lovely acidity. Super, balanced presentation. Understated but very, very impressive, it will need years in the cellar to provide complexity.

Full of fruit, power and grip. More of a body builder than a ballet dancer but just chock full of flavor. Still has room to improve.
