  • Bought this by accident (yeah, I know). This was part of an estate sale and it was lumped in with some other vintages and I did not pay close enough attention to the list to see that this was the blanc rather than the rouge. Usually I am super suspiious of older vintages of white wine of this nature yet despite its very golden color the aromatics are fresh, revolving around honeydew melon, white peach and pineapple with a dollop of a maple bar doughnut thrown in for good measure. Wine is supple, surprisingly light on its feet with the more golden fruit notes resounding in the wine. A little drying on the finish but hardly a source of great complaint. Overall as a wine judged solely on its merits it probably comes up as something like an 88 or 89 but judged on what it is (and really what I was expecting) it would be more in the 92 range. Nice surprise.
