  • Still tasting great and aged to perfection !! At peak or just past peak !!
Somewhat dried cork with little penetration after fifteen years in the bottle, easily removed with the Durand. Consumed over three days, Vac-U-Vined and refrigerated. The wine held up well and did not fall apart over 72 hours. Medium honey colored with minor oxidation and excellent clarity. 2006 was an El Niño year cooler and wetter than normal making for a challenging growing season. Greg allowed for full ripening resulting in high alcohol disguised in a particularly balanced wine (not hot). Savory aromas of apple and honeydew with buttery flavors of lemon cream, baked apple pie, lichee fruit, and tropical fruit. This balanced Chardonnay has softened and the acids were tamed, a product of extended cellaring. Delicious fruit and excellent winemaking from Greg Brewer that has stood the test of time. Well worth the wait, no more bottles of this vintage year remaining in my cellar. My advice is to drink up and enjoy !!

  • Given its age and recent CT notes my expectations were tempered so I was pleasantly surprised to the upside with this bottle. Poured a bright gold. Fragrant nose of butterscotch, honeysuckle, tropical fruits, mineral notes and a dash of vanilla extract. No oxidative notes or any obvious alcohol. Medium-full bodied with decent lift and lingering mineral and citrus notes on the finish. Very enjoyable. The bottle was served at 12 Celcius and consumed over about an hour so not sure how it would have fared with extended air time.

  • I opened this as a last ditch attempt to salvage my respect for RP's (IMO diminishing) palate. Subsequently cancelled my subscription after 28 years. Sorry, I mean no disrespect, really. But this is at best a 93 point wine, and while delicious, well made, complex and long, the heat on the finish and the falling apart after an hour doesn't even put this in the same league as many other basic chards worldwide. I'm a big fan of BC chards, and have been on their list for years, so this is no knock about them. Sorry for the rant. The wine is very good, but diminishes into the same murky, oaky, alcohol-laden mess that most domestic chards do after 4 or 5 years. Tons of big fruit, oak, butterscotch, minerality, and a lovely dry finish, this is quite good, but lacks precision, elegance, and most importantly, balance and ageability (too much ripeness and heat). We can do better this side of the pond, and I'm sorry, but $60 on release? Wake up California, a well made Chablis blows this out of the water for a third the tariff. Sorry.....

  • Very nice pinot noir.

  • Aged, golden hue, soft fruit, a bit of butter & oak. Not sure how this will develop (or fall off) with more age. I think it's a drink now.
