  • Tasted blind: spectacular, deep classy nose of rich black fruit; great purity of pinot fruit, violets and some herbal spiciness. Wonderful extract and purity. Very young and fresh but with great balance. Not too surprised to see what this was as I've had great experiences with the '03 Jadot reds (this is one of just a few I don't have in the cellar). They did a great job with such a hot vintage.

  • Very classy and spicy nose; same on palate though it's all still quite primary fruit; a touch stern on the mouthfeel and finish. Having enjoyed a number of Jadots '03s, this has great promise and should last decades.

  • Deep ruby garnet - very saturated. Sweet and primary nose of red fruits and a touch of spice. Big and rich on the palate, but not heavy. This is a big burgundy. Almost in a lush, full California sort of way. That said, this is not over ripe, burnt or overly alcoholic. In fact, I was pretty pleasurable. I do think it will ever be nuanced and elegant, but should be a good drink over the next 5 to 7 years. No problem at all drinking it today. (90)
