  • WOTN in a double-blind tasting by an overwhelming majority in our group in a tasting that included the 2000 Pavie, 2003 Montrose, 2003 Quilceda Creek, among other highly rated wines. Concentrated, but not as primary as my other bottle opened several years ago (tasted double-blind that a couple guessed as Colgin back then.) Extremely well balanced with notes of blackberry and road tar. Not getting any better, but seemed built t last for a couple more decades. A big thank you to Michael and Annabelle Waugh for producing this amazing wine, and all the amazing memories all their wines have provided over the years.

  • Wow what a wine ! Great fruit but has the backbone to sail on for years to come. These wines are SO under-appreciated. World class !

  • 1998 Greenock Creek Roennfeldt Road Shiraz, Barossa, Australia
This cuvée was magic in the hands of Chris Ringland. With Ringland no longer the wine maker, this wine has lost some of it's magic - at least judging by tonight's showing from the 1998. This wine is simply too much. There is simply too much of everything here, except style and grace, and most importantly - drinking pleasure. I jokingly exclaimed that this was like being knock-outed by Mike Tyson and others around the table agreed. No one seemed to enjoy it that much.
