  Neighbourhood gang late night at Maison Dakota. Drank in Grassl Cru.
  Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour with garnet rim. Legs.
  Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, slight mushroom, graphite pencil lead, blackcurrant, blackberry. Developed.
  On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), nicely integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of tertiary mushrooms, earth, graphite pencil lead, blackcurrant, blackberry, tobacco lead, dark herbs. Long finish.
  Very good quality. Such a classic and a delight to drink.

  not all showy, but i thought it upstaged the 10 other wines on show. a wine to be drunk and not merely tasted. a wine of quiet contemplation. a throwback to a time in Bordeaux that is forever lost. so hard to find these off vintage bordeaux, and this was a rare treat.

  Ash, leafs in decay, soft plummy, figgy fruit, blood and ferous notes. No tannines, tender and transparant, a respectable grand lady at the final phase of her drinking plateau.
  Pretty good effort, considering the vintage.
