James B nailed it, I think. This is a lovely wine. Full ruby with no sign of age. The nose is full, but with only the slightest pyrazine component. Red currants on the medium-bodied palate, generous acidity. This is still fairly tight and shows the structure to age, though if I had to guess, I'd say the oak and acid will outlive the fruit. It would be fun to keep one back for 10 more years, but alas, this was my last bottle. Recommended, highly polished, definitely a food wine as opposed to a PnP quaffer. Drink thru 2016, 14,2% abv, score: A-

This is drinking nicely now. Drink it with food; it's better as a pairing than on its own. It paired nicely with lamb meatballs with yogurt sauce and rice. Very nice nose. Tart cherry and soft tannins on the palate. It's a bit austere, which I think is characteristic of the varietal. My view generally is that cab franc blends nicely but has a little trouble on its own. Still, this is very nice wine.

Nice length and balance, no noticable heat, good finish. Plum, radish, and grafite/gunpowder on the palate. Less fruit driven, but the cedar and spice on the nose immediately lends to California. Lot of secondary things going on here. Does not get flabby, but I can see why some would not like this varietal. Would buy again.
