  • Tonight's best wine, no questions asked. Wow! What a classical showing!

    Upon plop: thin bagatelle.
After four hrs of dbl decanting, this showed beautifully at Le Message.

Robe: semi rich mature Bdx colour.
Nez: deep, rich, earthy old European, beautiful thing with a small herd of cattle grazing nearby. Lovely! Amazing!
Gouche: a beautiful Rioja tempranillo showing off restraint in all aspects. Small bite in the tannins, fantastic acidic lift, hint of dill on top of the beautiful rich, loamy aroma of earth… No hinta of oxidisation as of yet. Not much in the department of berries and fruits, but a lot more to be found in the herbs and spice dept. Wow! A full bodied old-style old-world wine that has everything you could ever ask for. Mjuff!

The first btl to run its course tonight.

Even if some Fruitf**kers say it's near the end of its strech, I would like to calm down all of you who are stashed: our btl had the poorest cork and took ages to extract. However! With that, this showing at this age and grape, this magnificent wine isn't going anywhere soon. Early drinking window as long as you thoroughly decant it first.

  • In the latter stages of its drinking window, it is still enjoyable but really needs to be consumed sooner rather than later.

  • Appearence medium garnet due to aging. Flavour of black plum and tertiary notes of leather. My last bottle :-) Drinking window is closing.

  • Flott vin til lammestek, holder koken etter 21 år, men må dekanteres et par runder. Dette er en matvin.
