Rockss and Fruit

(Puffeny Arbois "Vieilles Vignes") The 2003 Arbois VV is a blend of Poulsard, Trousseau & Pinot Noir. The nose has many different spices (orange rind, cinnamon, clove) and a high toned sweet floral thing going on. Great nose. Complex and original. The palate is soft yet rich and has nice acidity with suave tannins. Seems a bit closed at this point and could benefit from further aging. The finish is tangy, salty and slightly warm which is to be expected from a 2003 in France. The warmth is more like a CDP ripe vintage warmth. I don't believe it detracts. If you have these, all four of you, tuck away for five years and then this should be cruising.
