Graham Lyons sourced. Blind guess was late 1980s to early 1990s, but definitely not Bordeaux but Bordeaux-like. Once dustiness or woodiness blew away, a certain sweetness that was hard to place with caramel notes. Still vigorous with next textures, a classy drink.

Chateau Musar vertical tasting (Broadbent Selections, Richmond, VA): Brownish-darker red color. Nose of butterscotch and toffee. Notes of orange peel, butterscotch, mocha. Very smooth texture with a finish that lasted longer than 1 minute. The oldest red wine I've ever had presented me with a different flavor profile than I'm used to.

Tasted at The Sampler. Exotic, supple and balanced. I would quite happily put this as one of the most interesting wines I have ever had. I wish I had more opportunities to retry.
