Dark Ruby to the eye. Powerful nose of coffee and smoke. Some alcohol. Palate is as expected, strong coffee and smoke, small dark berry favors. Dense, concentrated. Smooth tannins, low acidity medium + finish. Overall I am sure this wine is showing little evolution, it is in the stronger is better Cali cab camp.

from a magnum - and celebrating winning a big deal at the office, so we used plastic cups, so no detailed tasting notes - decanted for one hour (into a large candy container washed and repurposed for the occasion - necessity is the mother of invention) -wonderful nose wafted across the conference room from the faux-decanter - overall medium weight, but surprisingly still very tannic - clearly a quality cab, enjoyable but not stellar - will try next one with proper stemware and a longer decant.

Medium bodied and violet, with a nose of cedar, faint black currant, and a medicinal undertone. Not at all lively on the palate with tastes of stewed black currant and more cedar. The finish was not impressive. This one seems beyond its prime.

Lots of life left here......could go another 2-3 years. Plenty of red and black fruit. Little heavy on Oak, but still very flavorful. Nose is outstanding and got much more complex with cassis, spices, cocoa after 30-40 minutes. Considering an under 50 dollar California Cab, this is outstanding and surprisingly still fairly youthful.
