| Tasted by MiamiWineNovice on 11/5/2009 & rated 91 points: Popped and poured without a decant. Served with homemade gnocchi with arrabiata. Full bodied. Beautiful fruity nose immediately showed plum and bright cherries with dark chocolate. Consumed over 3 hours in which the nose eventually opened up to dark fruits, plum, cinnamon, clove and hints of caramel and espresso. Nose evolved showing nice complexity for an everyday drinker. Palate showed cherry and plum with some chocolate and baking spices. Nice earthiness and well balanced but showing a little heat on the finish. This could use a little more time but it's drinking well now. Finish was short-lasting - it dropped off after about 15 seconds which was a little disappointing. I would seek this out again.
