Huet-A-Thon (Bay Area Edition): The nose is a little mute, with perhaps a subtle hint of apple, and a little funk. There’s still good acidity, but it’s a little softer than other wines on the table. It has a round, broad-shouldered texture (at least compared to the other Huets) with a little nuttiness.

This bottle was in a better shape than the previous one. Amber colour, nose on lemon curd, marmalade, honey. Acidity keeps the sweetness in check, good refreshing finish.

Nick's Burgundy evening at 64 Goodge Street: Pale orange. Smells like a much younger dry wine, only the colour gives it away. And then when you sip it for the first time there is this "oh!" moment. Marmalade, sweet cordial but not really strongly citrus, a bit of apricot or peach and pleasing mouthfeel. A lovely way to finish the evening, the wine had a lightness of touch that a Sauternes might not have had.

Very short cork that shows liquid almost sipped out, Pours a deep amber, nose on marmalade, on the palate, oxidation is obvious, short finish.

Nick's 64 Goodge Street (Mainly) Burg Dinner (64 Goodge St): Notes becoming a bit sparse by this stage but this was complex, marmaladey, citrus based, seamless, complete and quite long. Very enjoyable.
