Begins with a really inviting nose of Gevrey spices, but that was really the high point of this wine. Dark fruited and it seems like this is just on the brink of taking on foresty notes of the sous bois sort, but the palate here is dry, the fruit could be sweeter, and the midpalate is sort of lean too. It's clearly passed the primary stage, and maybe this just needs to turn a corner, flesh out some and take on some more savory notes. That would be optimistic.

Seattle Burgundy Group Tasting #2 -- Chambertin related (Cordon Selections): Procurement agent Jon feared for this baby. Bright sweet 2005 aromas of cassis, pomegranate, and cultivated raspberry. Also the smell of filter pad, or was it just fuzzy raspberries? The flavors were monolitically of cultivated cherry and raspberry, leading to a flat mid-palate and short, nondescript finish. Group rated it sixth of six.

Light ruby red, elegant if not understated nose of cherry, ripe red fruits and spice, tannic and loads of acid at the is very young age, long shifting finish moving from strawberry fruits to earth, mushrooms and smoke, 90?
