A powerful and interesting wine - you get ripe plums and black currant’s - we also get black pepper and also breasaola - medium tannins and medium + acidity still a very well balanced wine - we are also getting some tobacco - a reasonable aftertaste - a great wine that deserves solid 93.

(Tua Rita Syrah) Syrah Dear Friends, ...as we dig out of the Galardi onslaught, I am trying to move on to a new day - today (the offer was forwarded around the world so many times, we even received orders from importers in China - I politely declined). Thanks to everyone that made yesterday the single largest sales day in the history of Fattoria Galardi - they certainly appreciate the attention and hope you enjoy the wine as much as they did producing it. On with the show... Today's wine is one of the more thought-provoking examples any collector will come across. It is almost a distillation of all things Syrah, both old-world and new from Hermitage to Central Coast to Cote Rotie and back again. If you could take elements of the 1983 La Mouline, combine it with the tactile presence of the 2006 Delas-Freres Bessards and fold it into an SQN Syrah, it would be something like this. Elegance, power and precision are the hallmarks of this wine with an exotic, ultra-fine varietal beam set in a full-bodied, loaded frame that gives off the most enchanting whiffs of spice and smoke. Yes, there is oak but there is more oak in the 2005 La Mouline or La Landonne. Give this 10 years in the cellar and it should be superb - a serious wine that will surprise and excite the most knowledgeable: This parcel is directly from the winery cellar with perfect provenance - this is NOT via the grey market. If you see comparable prices out there, be sure you know where the wine is coming from and how it was stored at the point of origin... VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as an enticing blend of old and new - 25 cases for the entire US: 2005 Tua Rita Syrah Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy6812

Very good but this one had a hint of TCA. Not quite up to the level of the 2004. Earthy, rich dark fruit.

Drink up. Plum and black fruits, fruitcake, licorice, tobacco. Has some shiraz-like elements.

From magnum. Gorgeous floral and meaty notes. An elegant Syrah that is able to keep the Tuscan sun in check.
