Truly lovely bottle of this wine. Yellow/gold robe. Beeswax, lime blossom, a whisper of acacia honey and lanolin on the nose. Fine concentration and depth to the palate. Distinct savory mineral notes, well integrated oak, and enough acidity to give a sense of energy. Long expansive finish. Great youthful mein. I’d be curious to have tasted this young. There must have been plenty of sulfur at bottling. A hair better than a bottle enjoyed with SH a couple years ago.

Following the recommendation of a fellow reviewer, I decanted this for a couple of hours and it paid dividends. It is a beautifully mature wine, perfectly integrated, and showing no signs of over aging. Notes of apricot, and flora are prominent with hints of orange and honey. The balance and acidity are excellent and the finish is top rate. I can see no reason why well stored bottles cannot keep going for another decade or more.

Per the recommendation of a friend I decanted this wine a couple of hours in advance. In the past when I had not decanted the wine it had some harsh bitter flavors that took some time to blow away. The wine had wax and lanolin flavors with good acidity. There were flavors of straw and wheat as well as mountain flowers. Faint touches of honey and orange extract. Completely integrated and balanced. Perhaps a little past it's prime but I think this wine has years of life left.

Quite special. Mature, complex, definitely a lot happening here and still going strong. Drank at Lucali's.
