Very dark core with pale red rim; very sexy new French oak, vanilla, blackberry, plum, velvet on the nose, almost blueberry, bouquet garni, bacon fat, hint of leather; soft velvety texture, black pepper; beautiful and tasty; fooled everyone for Cote Rotie, only exception would be the weight didn't match and acidity was a bit low; more styled like a La La (I swore this was Guigal's oak regimen) than CA Syrah.

Insane. If you don't have this wine, you need it. Incredible syrah. No flaws. No sediment. Minimal rim variation. Little bit less than classic syrah nose, but, full of dark fruit. Old world nose. No tannin. Low alcohol taste. Medium finish. Just beautiful. Ready to go now. Would estimate an additional 5-10 years of bottle life, easy. If I haven't said it, just darn beautiful.

aromatically - citrus, clove, leather, cassis, faint black licorice, with a hint of red fruit. On the palate cherry, anise, clove and very very elegant throughout the palate. The alcohol is in check with the body, acid etc. and a very pleasurable wine to keep drinking (its not overboard). Very good wine. Has 10+ years left.

a noise that entices the curiousity with red fruit and some secondary flavors peaking through...on the palate dominatd by fruit and extract with the back half of the palate dominated by alcohol and heat. The curiosity on the nose is dampened by the heat on the end...will see what age adds but am not optimistic that the secondary flavors develop on the palate to put in any alcohol in the background.
