Now at 7 yrs old - medium yellow, lovely nose, leesy, almost as if it had seen oak, smoky, nutty - the lime and grapefruit are gone, replaced by nice stone fruit, earthy, nutty, complex flavours - round, smooth, very intense. Aging beautifully.
A captivating nose of ripe oranges, peach and honey as well as petrol, wool and chalk. Dry and creamy white peach to lychee palate with nice balance, minerally vibes and floral accents. Good length. Very good indeed. Riesling-like.
age just perfect, still very fresh but with lovely mellow fuit character now, nose fine, classy, restrained, palate with perfect balance between fruit and acid, long persistent lifted finish, just lovely now, excellent example of the class, complexity and power of this wine at its peak
Open and aromatic on the slightly honeyed nose with petrol character, bread and salt liquorice complementing the ripe passion fruit. Dry and round palate with good structure and ripe fruit. Dairy touches, minerally nuances and nuts. Long finish. Huge fun! Refined Rieslingesque stuff. Okay, my first more aged Cloudy Bay and this kicks ass.

(Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc) #2; COLOR-light golden; NOSE-some minerality (almost Loire-like); has the grass, and sweet Asian pear; nice; TASTE-good acid; really sour apples; like sour apple candy; good fruit on the back-end; nice acidity, nice balance; great w/ fish; a mellow effort; it's good, pretty solid, but not great; GV-89
(Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)) A very, very pale hue. A bright blast of grassy fruit on the nose, with powerful lemon cream character presented in a very well defined, fresh style. Notes of asparagus and in-your-face gooseberry. On the palate it is big, quite minerally, with sweetly ripe and yet fresh and green fruit, which obviously sounds paradoxical. Fruit pastille character, lots of fresh acidity, and a big and creamy finish. An excellent example of the style.
