This was even better than the bottle about a year ago being slightly fresher and more expressive on the nose. Otherwise that TN still largely applies. A characterful and harmonious mature Cahors. Good.

I like this a lot better than most of the previous posters. It is smaller and less mouth-filling than the very good 1999 but the aromas and flavours showed Cahors distinction and typicity. Colour was a typical near black and the nose was subdued but very fine with fragrant red berry fruit and earthy minerals. Palate followed through the lead of the nose with medium body at most, still fresh fruit, some roundness, more earthy minerals, lively acidity and firm tannic backbone. By now there were none of the overt oaky notes, on which some posters comment. Not great Cahors but satisfying with the savoury and slightly austere character typical of the appellation. Good.

Nice nose. Some ok fruit but lots of oak. Opens out slowly over the next few hours. Liquorice flavours develop with a leathery finish. Has some tart, tannic bite. I'm warming to this more and more. After 2-3 hours the oak has integrated and it is quite seamless. This has lots of stuffing and still seems remarkably young. Day2: has lost anything of interest. It was fine, with a tannic edge but nothing really interesting. Quite a stern/strict upright feel. Too young or a style issue? (feb '10)

Un brin austère, possiblement dû au millésime. Assez belle ampleur, mais peut-être un peu court. Bon vin correct.
