De color rojizo granatoso de capa alta, extremadamente extraído, cerrado, opaco. Reflejos rojizos, vivos, brillantes.

  • Deep ruby colour, no sign of fading. Not giving much on the nose.
On the palate there is a strong savoury element with a hint of sourness.
It tastes like something from an unripe vintage but that certainly wasn't the case in 2001.
Not at all what I was expecting from this. A previous bottle two years ago (from a different source) showed much better.
No obvious fault but not showing well. (85)+

  • This bottle was much better than the last and probably representative of the remaining bottles. Lush strawberries on the nose with butter toffee showing up later. Still nice and fresh with good fruit, it has chewy berry jam, blood orange, and vanilla on the palette. Medium bodied wine with moderate grip and lots of zest on the finish. Should hold this level for a while.

  • Deep in colour with a beautiful rose coloured rim, almost garnet in colour. On the nose though it's as tight as Col Gaddafi's backside. What does come through all that heavy armour is a deep, compact somewhat out of synchronisation orchestra of sour cherries, integrated oak with brooding crème caramel, undergrowth and an aroma of orange peel. On the palate the oak is more-so integrated, though he wine is still very primary and tight; after a three hour decant, finally, bitter cherries with an orange tinge emerge, cinnamon spice within oak emerge as opposed to caramel found on the nose. It is clearly an extracted, modern wine with as yet unresolved yet fine tannins and good acidity but there is a little alcohol evident on the finish which is relatively long. It seems this is slightly disjointed, give this a couple of years to settle down and the broodiness of it to stand to one side.

  • Upon opening nose was complex with rich strawberries. After two hour decant nose faded to cherries and smoke. Tannins have thinned considerably but alcohol and acidity still strong which makes the wine slightly unbalanced in the mouth. Tart cherries fill-in to the back of the tongue. I did not pick up on the abundance of fruit mentioned by other and the fruit seemed to have faded in this bottle. Seemed slightly past peak with a few years of life.
