Decanted about 3 hours. Not as complex as I'd like, but not bad considering the vintage. And the mouthfeel is classic BdM, just pure silk. Tasted pretty awkward right out of the bottle, but improved in the decanter, so maybe still has a couple years of life? Hard to predict on this one.

Considering 2002 was a dismal year in Brunello this was a pleasant surprise. Didn't take notes, but fruit is getting lean and the plum and darker fruits are being edged out; aging more like a chianti. All that said, a great food pairing, good age showing if you like older wines, silky smooth. Wish I would have paired it earlier in the meal with lighter meats. Maybe two years left?

Smells like raw green peppers and a wet sponge. Showing its age bigtime, pretty flat and acidic on the palate and finish, not showing much. Great secondary flavors from the age if thats what you're into, but pretty basic.

Didn't take any notes, but I sure liked this wine. Very smooth and rich, very Italian. Certainly well into the 90-point range, and can age for a long time yet. Good value.

(Caprili Brunello di Montalcino) Lovely dried plum, cherry and deep red fruit nose with a floral note; very tasty, rich, tart red fruit and plum palate with good acidity, drinking pretty well already; medium-plus finish
