if you like your white burg with heavily aged character then the rating would be higher, had at Harvest in Harvard Square, wine was darker than i would have expected and showed significant age with a toasty, smoky but also fruity nose, palate was close to borderline pre-mox'd with a nice balance of citrus, honeysuckle, hint of smoke, sweet richness -- marshmallow bordering on butterscotch, had just enough acid to hold it together but i'm guessing this bottle was better a year ago and would have been a goner if held another year longer
Well, this is certainly the most expensive wine I've had for a long time; thank you Christmas, for giving me the excuse. It has a certain air of majesty about it. Light to medium gold in colour; subtle nose of toasted nuts and butterscotch; fairly full bodied, and very long: it processes slowly across the palate... Is it 'worth it'? Definitely not. Am I glad to have tried it, to find out first hand? Definitely yes. 13%. Cork.
