It had loads of spice and ripe peach aromas along with some toast. It was unctuous and super rich but with almost Chevalier like minerally line. This and the DRC proved again that I suspect we underrated the top 2006 whites on release, as they are just so good at the moment.
The nose took quite some time to open and harmonize - marzipan, floral notes, citrus essence, apples, a touch of honey. Very fresh, med+ body, round, rather mineral. Lots of citrus, lemon zest on the palate. Very intense yet rather straightforward. Very long. Citrus and mineral aftertaste. Looks like an infanticide.
Dreamtasting #2 (Restaurant de Watermolen, Kasterlee): (*) Compared to the first wine in this flight (what turned out to be the 2003 Hamilton Russell CWG Chardonnay) this wine was slightly hot and monolithic, candy-like at start. But after a while, extended aeration gave this wine a nice evolution in the glass and more delicate complexity emerged. 18/20
Naso più serioso, e con qualche tocco di legno, anche se forse perchè più chiuso, del vicino. Bocca calda e avvolgente, lunghissima e di gran spalla acida. Poi al naso escono note fruttate e minerali molto molto piacevoli.
