Not too sure what to make of it, feels mature but still lacks complexity and intensity which should come from a well made mature wine, lots of lemon rind, grapefruit, bare hints of minerals, despite the acidity came across a bit flabby and unfocused in the mouth
Golden yellow colour. Ripe, forward, lime sherbert flavour on the palate; fairly intense and long; the acidity is pronounced, but there is just enough fruit to balance it. On the evidence of this bottle, the wine is fully mature and will not improve.
Super vin, comme d'habitude. Seule réserve, cette bouteille manquait d'un poil de fraîcheur. Mais çà lui donnait une certaine sagesse, un profil plus détendu, qui n'était pas mal du tout. Une belle bouteille, prête à boire.
Still light yellow. This is all black tea on the nose without any petrol evident. Medium weight, fairly light for Frederic Emile. Minimal stone fruit and more in the way of ripe citrus with some distillate tones in the mouth. Acidity is not as high as I perceived 3 years ago, but good stony/soil finish. In short, I found this bottle to be elegant and proper but missing the intensity and excitement of better vintages.
