a nose like eating maple bacon in a barnyard ... got a slab of that funky stuff going on ... overtones of oak, tar and plum as well, but hard to get much past the funk ... luckily the sweet and savoryishness of the "bacon" does a decent job of balancing the barnyard funk ... dry and restrained fruit on the palate ... peppery ... fairly aggressive tannins leave a somewhat desiccated feel after the finish ... more interesting than enjoyable, doesn't really represent the grenache predominant blend as anticipated ...
