Medium ruby, purple tinge, narrow legs. Medium aromas of mature Bordeaux character; cherries, cedar, pepper and lead. Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium mature and ripe tannin, medium-medium(+) alcohol. Substantial mouthcladding texture. Medium flavors of cherries, kirsch, pepper and cedar. Long satisfying focussed finish with gripping tannin, medium body. Worked wonders with smoked beef brisket. This wine matured wonderfully.

Color: black with hints of burgundy Nose: pomegranate cough syrup Mouthfeel: viscous and gritty Taste: pomegranate on the front palate, cough syrup on the mid palate, vinegar with a hint of dark red fruit Comments: nicely layered but the flavors came across as passed it prime, good with food, but not a wine you must seek out

Just drank this bottle with some fine lamb. I was surprised, I thought it would be over its top, but I liked it much more than before. Very nice now.

Heady and almost a touch of the syrupy, but there's enough body to cope with the high octane flavours of the vintage. Excellent value

D. Byrne Summer Wine Tasting (Clitheroe): Fairly decent nose. Bit of a clunky, basic feel. But it is right at the end of the bottle.
