The wine is showing its age a bit, but plenty of black-cherry and earth. Initially, in the glass, this was a bit devoid of character, but with time, this woke up. By the end of the bottle, though, this was really singing. Perhaps it was yet another painful episode of watching Grey's Anatomy with my wife (still in the running for husband of the year, I think) that clouded my judgment a bit as I jumped into this glass with reckless abandon, hoping to escape my plight. And the wine obliged. By the end of the bottle? Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com
A bit stewed right out of the bottle, which was surprising as the last two bottles of this were stellar. With a bit of time, that stewed-ness wore off a bit, exposing the rich dark fruit behind. Past the fruit, there is a fine balance with ample acidity and a strong finish. Very Good to Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com
Pale red, almost orangish color. Fruit had dark berry and cherry, with vanilla-oak, and earth on the end. Lingering medium finish with a nice warming mouth feel. Fruit, tannins and acidity were well integrated. Wish I had more.
