One of the rare bottles of 1994 Pesquera with a perfect cork. Distinct bricking but good clarity. A bit of fresh leather and Italian spices on the nose. Fruit is weakening noticeably, but the wine is holding up well structurally. Tasty light raspberry, fading tannins, and overall decent drinking, but sadly I think this has lost too much. Drink up.

Cork was damaged and got a strong whiff of vinegar, but the wine survived. Opened up after an hour with good balance, integrated tannins, restrained notes of leather, dill, and berry. Medium to long on the finish. At or slightly past peak.

Brick rim, dark cherry colour, animal notes, ripe, almost sweet, mocha, vanilla, dark fruits, extremely long, rich and thick, wow, what a great bottle although cork had seepage! The greatest Pesquera I’ve ever had. Will hold another 10+ years easily.

Nice wine with somewhat faded plummy fruit and good earthy appeal with a strongman acid streak adding brightness. Drinking fine, just past peak.

Mature with well-integrated tannins. Very smooth. Black cherry, leather, and dark chocolate with a medium to long finish.
