Took to Bill's lunch. Effusive nose made great 1st impression. Unexpectedly light taupe color for vintage/vineyard, but great flavor on the palate of cherry, tomato and a bit of sea salt. Tasted more like Sonoma Coast than Russian River. Still, excellent.
Pure and high-toned, and quite a classic Pinot. The ripeness of the still youthful fruit is well balanced by acidity. Seems to have mellowed since my last bottle, with no sign of overt alcohol or oak in this one. It appreciates some air to bring out some body and soft tannins. Drinking well, though I see no reason why it should not become more interesting. Rather classy. vg+
