This was fantastic. After a sip, my wife stated: "This is the best wine I've ever had." She has been a wine enthusiast a long time. A little tawny in appearance. Red currant and iodine aromas. The mouthfeel was sublime. Piles of velvet. This just totally caressed every corner of your mouth. This gushed black currant, liquid smoke and had a tad of iodine on the finish to echo the nose. Long finish. Balanced. Classic. 95

A few years ago I loved this wine. Either my palate or the wine has changed dramatically. Had our last bottle tonight and was disappointed. The wine was not bad, it still had a hint of its once impressive fruit, followed by a white chocolate sweetness that I found unpleasant. Flabby, no acidity, and boring. No longer a good food wine. Drink now if you have them.

(Steltzner Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Barrel select) #3 (BLIND TASTING); VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-completely weird; an minty, evergreen aspect; musty; minty pancakes w/ IHOP blueberry syrup; TASTE-this reminds me of a specific food that I can't pinpoint; kind of like Oyster juice and Caviar; mint and cough syrup component; some Root Beer and pomegranate action; I like that it's unique, but not really enjoying it; WS-92; GV-89?

This was a lovely wine with a long finish that while very satisfying makes you want another sip. Wish I had more.
