Summary: 90 pts B+ for long finish and still holding up (but ready to drink now)

Taster: Slight chest cold but can smell Food: Spaghetti with parm reg Providence: From thermoelectric cellar at 55 degrees, kept on it's side Decanting: Not decanted given it's age Cork: Good, surprisingly clean, well hydrated (bottle portion crunched in like a champagne cork) Bottle: Hardly any sediment at all Looks: Dark red (looks like a '04) Nose: Leather, plum, vanilla, chocolate Body: 1 % milk Taste: Roses, blueberry, with sharp lively tannins Finish: 45+ seconds Summary: Very nice color, smooth for a '01 Score: 89 pts B+

Not impressive, but a welcome surprise after the bad press and bad reviews. Would I buy again at the price? absolutely not. Some fruit and nice acidity, a very pleasant wine. No super hero though.
