Rich and velvety on the toungue. Decanted for an hour, so I believe that helped to relax the tannins somewhat. Lots of fruity, berry aromas and flavors. Drinking well right now

This is a bold wine with a wonderfully interesting nose and taste/mouth feel that is addictive. The nose is very earthy with some smoke, barnyard and distinct leather (it reminds me of a new football) surrounding a solid core of raspberry, spicy blueberry pie and cherry. In the mouth this is like a fatman on a tightrope - big but balanced. The fruit is dark and cooked - a bing cherry compote - and forward in the profile but followed by a medium length acidic finish that holds some of the dark fruit on the upper palate. The structure is there, with rustic tannins keeping the mouth interested and giving the fruit something to grasp onto.

Very rich, earthy, complex - an old world wine. Still, it has some fruit fowardness which eases the tannins. Can stay in the cellar a few more years. For the price, this wine is fantastic.

Spanish Tasting (Fine's Cellar, Scottsdale): Tastes of cherry, raspberry and earth. Spicy finish.

Deep berry fruit on the palate, tannins weren't well integrated yet, still enjoyable and a good value.
