A bit simple, somewhat generic (but definitely Pinot Noir), perhaps a little short, and extremely delicate. This merits a solid "good," but not much more than that, I think. Expensive, for what it is. Kind of a high class, quality picnic (or mid-week) wine is how I might characterize it.
Dark garnet ruby in the glass. A nose of cherries and red currants. Some nice earthy backing. A whiff of cranberry. The tannins and acidity are so well integrated. This is just in the right place. Wonderfully smooth flavors of earthy red fruits. So food friendly. WOTN.
To me, this is a quintessential red Burgundy. It has classic red pinot fruit, which to me is that candied strawberry flavor. It is balanced, has good acidity, and finishes surprisingly long. I am finishing a bottle now that went beautifully with a grilled salmon dinner. Good stuff.
