  • Opened with tobbaco and cedar on nose; decanted for 1 hr and strained at end due to sm. quant. of sediment. Developed to nose of black fruit and toasty cedar. Palate of softening dark fruit, but predominated by flavors of cedar, spice with firm tannins. After another hour or two tannins softened (we served it with earthy flavors--chicken and mushrooms with red wine pan sauce and roasted carrots with dill).
