Deep inky colour indicative of plenty of extract. Not exactly memorable on the nose. First impression on tasting was the extreme currant-like fruit, quite overwhelming, which made for a lack of balance. The following day that had softened and some of the deeper components, graphite and espresso, appeared. Fruit still sweet rather than hot - as is often the way.

Not bad, nice and flavoursome, but light to medium bodied - almost more like a full-flavoured Pinot Noir than a shiraz. Different from the jammy SA shirazes
