Deep, opaque purple. A glorious nose of chocolate mint - or, I suppose, eucalyptus. On the palate, a gush of luscious flavours and textures. Long, with a touch of alcohol burn the only slight out-of-balance element. (14.5%) A classic Barossa Shiraz.

I agree with previous tasters, this is a stunning Shiraz. It has all the intensity you would expect from a wine made from 120 year old vines, refreshed by a wonderful acidity, silky tannins and a full body, excellent sweet ripe red and black fruit flavors and notes of mocha, chocolate and vanilla. This is drinking superbly now. Had with lamb chops and can't imagine a better pairing. Lovely wine. - 92 points

Pepper and powerful dark fruit on the nose. Very easy to tell on the nose that this has structure and is well made. On the palate a fruit forward wine (cherry, blackberry) and with a smooth transition through the mid palate and a very nice long finish extending 50 plus seconds. A real treat and an excellent bottle. Truly decadent and approachable, this is a well made and enjoyable bottle of wine that is drinking extremely well now and i would anticipate will drink well for several more years.
