  Another excellent bottle. Shows a bit more mature/less primary than my last with some smoky, creamy, and honeyed notes around the bright fruit and minerality, and this seems to be in a nice place. Like this a lot, though I found myself slightly preferring the focus and energy in the '95 GH Spätlese I had last week - this seems a touch broader and richer, but without the same cut and energy in the Spät.

  My birthday celebration, 2019 edition: Same bottle as Salil. Definitely quite primary still but there is a lot of promise in this wine. Well balanced and entirely quaffable. I wish I could have followed this through the night but it just didn't last.

  Very primary, still showing a bit of that spritz on the palate and I wonder if more air might have helped. The Prüm sulfur isn't apparent, but the fruit still feels rather tightly coiled and gives the impression there's a lot in reserve. There's some apparent maturing smokiness along with the floral and mineral notes, but right now this seems more about its potential than pleasure. I'll wait on my Auslesen some time longer, and open the Späts in the mean time.
