This was simply too old now. Fully mature, slightly over the hill. Leather, spices, tobacco, soy sauce. Only hints of mint fruit left. Rather harmonius palate. Slightly burnt impression. Oxidative aromas. Spicy, sweet Tobacco, raisins and sweet liquorice. Good but now too old. I have liked well cellared Aussie Shiraz in the past, but this was probably lacking a bit structure to manage 13 years.

The nose is redolent of a muscat and there are distinct secondary characteristics of raisins in the flavour profile as well as a bit of tobacco and leather, but there is still some primary dark, savoury fruit as well and a good finish. Marvellous wine.

Deep purple and an inky, concentrated, peppery nose. Tastes cooler than the Barossa and warmer than Vic/ACT. A beautiful full-bodied Shiraz without the over ripeness, over extraction that was happening at about this time. Drinking well now even if the acid is poking out a touch, but by day three in the decanter this wine had smoothed itself out and was coating the mouth with its charms.

Deep brick red with tinge of purple, porty on the nose that blew off,tar smell, berry fruit on nose & palate, little tannin left, but acid still there. Would have been better last year and needs drinking up soon.

Dark rubi with some brown nuances. The nose hints for what this really is, a disjointed wine. Alcohol and oak on the nose, not much fruit. The mouth is hot and thin with lot's of oak. After sometime it gone even thiner, hotter and oakier. Used the other half of the bottle for cooking.
