  • Perhaps a little faded compared with a bottle 6 years ago but still a lovely wine. Linear and long in shape, quite lean and only slightly sweet, it was mineral dominated with mature white fruit and moreish acidity. It was a fine pairing with poussin à l'estragon et à la crème and even better with goat cheese. Very good.

  • Color of dark hay or rich straw. Usually, the descriptor of “lemon” on the nose is not a welcome feature for me. While I don’t find such an element objectionable, it’s not a feature that gets me revved up about a wine, at least not until now. The nose on this is LEMON. Intensely, cleanly, clearly and distinctly lemon with some tangerine, almond, mineral, honey and honeysuckle all eventually making their way to the front of the stage. The mouthfeel is stunningly good with a roundness and surprising fullness, but nothing about it flabby. The wine maintains its cut and crispness to the very long finish. Somewhere, maybe in the mid-palate some hint of ground cloves come through. But the ultimate compliment comes from the spousal unit who remarks, “This is a wine Bob Cuozzi would like.” Would that we had any more of this. 12% alc. With fried oysters and crab cakes (from the Depot). A very nice wine with the oysters, but absolutely fandamntastic with the crab cakes. A bite of crab a sip of wine and both are transformed into something neither is alone. The wine becomes creamy and crab buttery. It was one of those pairings that has the feel of a perfect swing, the completeness of a summer day, the lingering of that memorable kiss. Highly Recommended.
