Tasted by RPerro on 11/7/2009 & rated 90 points: Pop-n-pour. Very earthy on the nose, with dark berry fruit aromas. Sweet blackberry pie flavors, with a nice earthiness and chewy texture. Very well-integrated and tasty as all get out. Great finish, with a bit of drying tannins. Decanting would have helped somewhat, I think. (364 views)
Tasted by Gfritzh on 5/20/2009 & rated 88 points: A bit tannic when first opened, the wine softened considerably over the course of dinner. A pleasant syrah with nice fruit which is not ultra ripe. Drinking well now. (707 views)

Tasted by Vino Me on 3/13/2008 & rated 90 points: Ladera Winery Visit (Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, California): 150 cases are made of this wine. This is the 2nd vintage Ladera has made it. The fruit is sourced from their Lone Canyon Vineyard on the West side of Napa Valley with an elevation of 1100 feet. It retails for about $40. Dark purple color. This wine was filled with currant, wild game, spice and red fruit notes. Chewy texture and very well put together. 90-91 points. (1009 views)

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in almost 10 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
